This guide explains how to assess glucomannan supplements using the information on the label and product page.
It focuses on product categories, ingredient declarations, serving information, suitability and the limits of permitted claims. It does not rank or score competing brands.
Commercial disclosure: The Health Improvers sells food supplements in this category. Where one of our products is used as a worked example, it is clearly identified and assessed using the same label-reading principles.
Which format suits which shopper?
For the authorised 3g protocol
Choose a product whose directions clearly split the intake into three portions containing 1g. Both the number of capsules and the amount of water matter. A lower pot price can become a short supply when six capsules are needed daily.
For a broader fibre blend
A powder can provide psyllium, inulin and other fibres at meaningful weights that would be difficult to fit into capsules. The trade-off is measuring, mixing and drinking it promptly.
For a caffeine-free routine
Read beyond “glucomannan”. Weight-management blends often include green tea, green coffee, guarana or other caffeine sources. Fibre&More is the caffeine-free option in our range; Konjac Thermogenic Shred is not.
How long will a pack last?
Calculate this from the dose you intend to use, not the lowest permitted dose on the label.
- A 90-capsule pot taken at six capsules daily lasts 15 days.
- A 36-serving powder used three times daily lasts about 12 days.
- If you are not following the weight-claim protocol, duration may be longer—but the authorised claim should not then be assumed.
This is why cost per pot and cost per day answer different questions.
Five red flags
- A large “konjac” figure with no declared glucomannan quantity.
- A weight claim without the energy-restricted-diet condition.
- 3g presented as one serving instead of three 1g portions.
- No adequate-fluid or choking warning.
- Promises about appetite suppression, fat burning or a specific amount of weight loss.
How to choose
Choose Konjac Thermogenic Shred when you want a capsule routine built around three 1g servings and you are comfortable with a formula containing caffeine sources.
Choose Fibre&More when you prefer a caffeine-free powder and want a broader high-fibre formula rather than a capsule-led product.
Choose a simpler third-party glucomannan product when you want fewer additional ingredients—but verify that its directions actually match the claim you intend to rely on.
